Candidate for Lunenburg Melissa Duggan
Melissa is a hardworking and dedicated mother of two young children; Ayla and Liam. While raising her children, she manages to juggle many responsibilities at once with great care.
She has worked in Pediatric Mental Health and Addictions in both Alberta and Nova Scotia for almost 20 years, currently working in Adolescent Intensive Services at the IWK. She is passionate about helping youth find strength and stability and reaching their full potential, all while being a strong advocate for improvements to the services provided to youth in the province.
Melissa just completed a 4-year term as a councillor for the Town of Lunenburg, where she has resided for the last 12 years. Her love for her community is apparent in her strong advocacy for housing, health care and education.
She is currently looking to find a new home within her community but facing the same challenges as many of the constituents that she represents. Housing availability and affordability weigh heavily on her as a core need for the broader community.
Both of her children are competitive athletes and she is passionate about the health and active living of youth in the province.
She is a board member for the Lunenburg and District Swimming Pool, where both kids have been swimming for the Lunenburg Mariners Swim Team for the past handful of years.
Melissa has put her name forward after closely following Zach Churchill’s work over the past number of years and is looking forward to the work that we can do together to improve our province in the years to come.
