Abraham Zebian elected as Liberal candidate for Hants West

(Halifax, NS) – Abraham Zebian has been elected as the candidate for Hants West and will represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in the next provincial election. Due to COVID-19, the nomination process was conducted virtually.

Abraham has served as the Mayor of West Hants Regional Municipality since 2020. In 2016, he began his career in municipal politics when he was elected as Councillor for District 9 (Falmouth) and was then appointed as Warden. Abraham is also an established small business owner and successfully operates Joe’s Men’s Wear, a retail clothing store.

“I’m honoured and proud to represent the Liberal banner for Hants West in the next provincial election,” says Zebian. “Under the leadership of Premier Rankin, I know we can continue making Nova Scotia, and Hants West, the best place to live, work, and visit!”

Abraham played a key role in merging Windsor and West Hants councils and has successfully led the newly consolidated West Hants Regional Municipality. He is a strong advocate for agricultural development and has secured funding for capital upgrades alongside the Agricultural Society. Abraham and his wife, Samira, are proud residents of Hants West where they raise their three young children.

“As mayor of West Hants, Abraham has proven himself as a dedicated leader,” says Premier Iain Rankin. “I know he will continue his valued work in our new Liberal government. I am thrilled to have his voice on our team.”
