Candidate for Bedford Basin Doris Robbins

As a military spouse, Doris has lived in many places, but has been a pillar of the Bedford community since moving here in 2003. She attended the University of Toronto and Humber College, in Linguistics and Business Admin. She also earned a credit from Dalhousie University, studying in the Czech Republic.

You may recognize Doris from her time serving constituents in the office of the Hon. Kelly Regan. She has also had a varied career in travel and tourism, cultural arts management, and education development. She has served as Campaign Chair for the Hon. Geoff Regan, worked on individual and central provincial campaigns, chaired the Halifax West electoral district association, worked as an executive assistant in the Office of the Premier and as the Interim Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party.

Her extensive volunteer work includes time with Opera NS, the Mississauga Symphony, Toronto and Pensacola Children’s Choruses, and St. Ignatius Parish. She has also been a prominent community organizer in Bedford for years.

Doris has a proven history of helping people in Bedford Basin and across Nova Scotia. Through her years of hard work, Doris connected local organizations with funding, helped newcomers connect with their community, built relationships across Bedford Basin, and helped constituents navigate issues with the provincial government. In recognition of this work, she was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal. She is a dedicated, experienced community leader, ready to be a strong MLA for Bedford Basin.
