Gwyn BellefontaineCandidate for Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley
Gwyn grew up in the community of Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, where she spent her formative years on a dairy farm. The values of hard work, dedication, and connection to one’s roots have remained central to Gwyn’s personal and professional life.
Gwyn is deeply committed to participating in her community activities. She holds the position of President of the Middle Musquodoboit Agricultural Society, a group that her father once represented in his day. This includes her active participation in the Halifax County Exhibition which has recently hosted record attendance. She is also one of the founding members of the newly organized Musquodoboit Valley Communities Association which represents local businesses, non-profits, tourism, and civics and culture groups in the Musquodoboit Valley. Gwyn is passionate about supporting local initiatives that enhance community well-being and foster economic growth.
Much of Gwyn’s job experience has been focused in agriculture, whether it has been farming, farmer’s market sales, or marketing and communications for agricultural businesses. Her career change to the healthcare field has increased her awareness to the latest issues facing all Nova Scotians.
With her entrepreneurial spirit and a focus on the future of increased rural prosperity, Gwyn hopes to share her ideas and energy to encourage all Nova Scotians to be actively involved in their future.
