Liberal Candidate for Colchester North
Merlyn Smith is a longtime resident of Colchester-North, a community leader – and Truro area businessman. Having spent the last several decades living in Valley with his wife Mary Ellen and his two sons Drew and Lucas, he has also been an active member of the Valley-Kemptown and District Volunteer Fire Brigade for over 27 years. Now, Merlyn is looking forward to taking his passion and dedication to the next level – by representing you in the Nova Scotia Legislature.
Merlyn has worked alongside the public in a variety of management, project planning and business development roles for over 30 years. This unique combination of experience and long track record of community service gives him an excellent background to tackle the issues head-on, asking the tough questions – and achieving the real results you deserve.
Merlyn is honoured to represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in this provincial election, and he is committed to carrying on the hard work and legacy of MLA Karen Casey, working alongside Premier Iain Rankin to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Colchester-North. Merlyn’s priorities include healthcare, economic growth and infrastructure development, stability for seniors, affordable housing – and protecting our environment.
“Nova Scotia is at an important stage. As we move forward from the many challenges of COVID-19, we must remain diligent to continue to protect our home and our people. Now is the time to maintain the stability of our leadership, our community, and our province. I believe in the people of this riding – and on August 17th, I’m asking you to believe in me. I humbly ask for your support as we work to build a better future – together.”
Nova Scotia is ready to take the next step. We have an opportunity, right now, and an obligation to leave a better legacy for our children – by increasing equity, protecting the environment and building a better tomorrow.Learn More
