Geof Turner acclaimed as Liberal candidate for Kings North

(Halifax, NS) – Geof Turner has been acclaimed as the Liberal candidate for Kings North and will represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in the next provincial election. Due to COVID-19, the nomination meeting was conducted virtually.

Geof is a proud resident of Steam Mill where he lives on a small farm just down the road from where he grew up.  For over 25 years, Geof has worked for Canada Post in downtown Kentville. Geof and his wife Sherri have raised their two daughters in the Annapolis Valley. His oldest daughter is a recent graduate of Acadia University and his youngest daughter is a student at Northeast Kings Education Centre.

“Having a seat at the governing table is essential to getting the needs and ideas of our residents understood,” says Turner. “I will listen, learn, and represent the residents, businesses, and organizations in Kings North so that, together, we can all thrive.”

Geof is an active member of his community and volunteers his time with many local organizations including the Kentville Lions Club, Centreville Community Development Association, and Charles Macdonald Concrete House Museum. For fifteen years, he volunteered with the Valley local of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers as secretary-treasury and union president. Throughout the years, Geof’s family has proudly welcomed students from around the world into their home as an international host family.

“Geof’s passion for his community makes him an excellent Liberal candidate to represent Kings North,” says Premier Iain Rankin. “I look forward to working with Geof in the next provincial election.”
