Mary LeRoy acclaimed as Liberal candidate for Sackville-Cobequid

(Halifax, NS)

Mary LeRoy has been acclaimed as the Liberal candidate for Sackville-Cobequid and will represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in the next provincial election. Due to COVID-19, the nomination meeting was conducted virtually.

Born and raised in Sydney, Mary moved to Halifax to pursue her education at Mount Saint Vincent University and later Dalhousie University where she received her Masters of Public Administration. Now living in Lower Sackville, Mary has over 30 years of experience working in the mental health field as a crisis consultant where she helps individuals and organizations deal with disasters. Through her crisis consulting business, Mary has been able to help  survivors of traumatic events.

“I am honoured to be the Liberal candidate for Sackville-Cobequid,” said LeRoy. “I am excited to have the opportunity to be at the decision-making table to help my community.”

Mary has been a dedicated volunteer in the community for many years. She has devoted her time to a variety of organizations such as Hope Cottage, the Women’s Health Education Network, Halifax Pride, and Mission to Seafarers. Mary is passionate about making mental health resources more accessible for all Nova Scotians.

“I’m so pleased to welcome Mary to the team,” said Premier Iain Rankin. “Mary cares about the issues that impact her community and I know as MLA she will dedicate herself to helping the people of Sackville-Cobequid.”
