Michael Blois acclaimed as Liberal candidate for Hants East

Michael Blois has been acclaimed as the candidate for Hants East and will represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in the next election.

Michael is a life-long resident of Gore, East Hants and grew up on an eighth-generation family farm with his parents, Debbie and Barron, and three brothers, Beau, Emmett, and Willem. He attended Hants North Rural High in Kennetcook before going to complete a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business at Dalhousie University and a Masters of Business Administration at St. Mary’s University.

“I feel very honoured to be the Liberal Candidate in Hants East and I promise to work as hard as I can to support our community and everyone who lives here,” says Blois. “I look forward to the road ahead, to meeting as many people as possible and most importantly, to begin the work needed to help create opportunities and progress for our community.”

Michael has a strong connection to the community as a result of his lifelong dedication to volunteering. In 2016, Michael became the Director of East Hants Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Tom Parker Award for Chamber Member of the Year in 2019. His goal of making Hants East a sought after destination for people across the province has led him to many entrepreneurial ventures, such as his business MudCraft, Empire Trails, and his family farm, Courthouse Hill Farm.

“I’m pleased to have Michael on our Liberal team for the next provincial election,” says Premier Iain Rankin. “His dedication to his community makes Michael the best choice to be the next MLA for Hants East.”
