Atlantic Loop

  • Advocating for the Atlantic Loop to secure federal financial support.
  • Co-chairing, with the federal government, work on the Atlantic Loop.
  • Upgrading interties between Canada’s eastern provinces.

Sharing power between provinces will ensure that the most affordable power is available to customers. The Atlantic Loop would upgrade the interties between our provinces, a crucial initiative given that increased electrification will significantly increase the demand for electricity.

Nova Scotia is currently co-chairing with the federal government the work on the Atlantic Loop. Stakeholders engaged in the discussions include the federal government, the five eastern provinces as well as the power utilities.

A re-elected Rankin government will continue to be a strong advocate for this project and work to secure federal financial support.
