With 17 locations, more than 130 programs, and nearly 20,000 students, the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is Nova Scotia’s school. Its success is Nova Scotia’s success.
A Liberal Government believes all Nova Scotians should have access to affordable, innovative, and in-demand programming from the NSCC.
The NSCC is key to filling our labour needs in critical sectors, such as healthcare, childcare, and construction, fostering an innovative, entrepreneurial, and technologically advanced workforce.
Since 2013, the Liberal government has been making strategic investments in the NSCC to grow Nova Scotia, launch careers, and drive business innovation. The investments are an economic success story — the NSCC stimulates $1.8 billion in economic activity for our province.
As we transition to a more inclusive, clean, and digital economy, a re-elected Liberal government will further invest in the NSCC so that Nova Scotians can access suitable education for an evolving economy.
A re-elected Liberal government will invest $77.88 million over four years to support a major expansion of the NSCC, building the foundation of Nova Scotia’s economic recovery by preparing our workforce for the transition towards a cleaner, more inclusive economic future .
This strategic investment in our workforce focuses on:
- Creating a fair and affordable tuition model
- Embracing lifelong within our economic approach
- Filling labour needs in critical sectors and offering innovative programming
- Developing new infrastructure to support innovation and program expansion
Under our plan, more Nova Scotians will benefit from the NSCC annually, at a lower cost.
