Greener Buildings

  • Supporting industry partners to drive sustainable construction.
  • Creating infrastructure that lasts.
  • Exploring zero carbon emission construction.
  • Encouraging all new commercial developments to incorporate EV chargers.

As we grow the green economy, new practices and knowledge emerges about how to build sustainable, energy efficient buildings. Supporting our industry partners to meet the most up to date standards will drive sustainable construction and ensure that we are creating built infrastructure that lasts for the long-term. Zero carbon emissions construction and retrofits can be a major driver of job creation and economic activity.

We will explore opportunities to use the building codes to encourage all new commercial developments to incorporate EV chargers or make them fast charger ready and encourage construction using sustainable, low embedded emissions materials.
