Unleashing our full economic potential requires the development of an inclusive workforce that is representative of our diverse communities. That is why the Rankin government committed $723,100 to the PTECH program for information technology in Cape Breton to provide in-demand digital skills to Mi’kmaq and Indigenous students. The investment will promote inclusive economic growth and help students gain skills that will help them begin careers in the digital sector.
The PTECH model creates long-term partnerships between industry and education to enable businesses to play an active role in the learning and career development of students.
Students participating in the PTECH program have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an NSCC diploma in an information technology program while gaining industry experience at no cost.
