In Canada, passenger transportation is one of the largest contributors to total emissions. Our government understands that we cannot fight climate change without making it easier and more affordable for Nova Scotians to fight climate change with greener transportation. We all want clean air to breathe, so we have to keep greening our transportation network.
A re-elected Liberal government will make it easier to move sustainably around the province by ensuring that green technology and infrastructure investment is at the heart of our transportation strategy.
We will continue to bring green transformation to our public transportation system with electrified buses, ferries, and emission reducing technologies. We will also commit to active transportation, making it more accessible and realistic to include biking, running, walking, and/or hiking into daily commuting and recreational trip planning. And, of course, we will recognize the importance of moving away from gas-powered vehicles, incentivizing Nova Scotians to steadily increase adoption of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
We can have a green transportation network in this province and we have a plan to get us there.
