Regulating Offshore Wind

  • Supporting wind energy to reduce GHG emissions.
  • Creating a strategy for offshore wind development .
  • Exploring opportunities to innovate within the sector.

Nova Scotia’s leadership in wind energy means that we have the skills to explore opportunities to innovate within the sector. Offshore wind energy is a unique opportunity for our province, but it comes with a need to balance environmental and economic impacts.

A re-elected Liberal government will create a strategy for offshore wind development that will include mapping offshore wind resources, creating regulatory frameworks and undertaking research to understand possible environmental impacts.
