Suzanne Lohnes-Croft acclaimed as Liberal candidate for Lunenburg

Suzanne Lohnes-Croft has been acclaimed as the candidate for Lunenburg and will represent the Nova Scotia Liberal Party in the next provincial election. Due to COVID-19, the nomination meeting took place entirely virtually.

Suzanne has represented the riding of Lunenburg in the Nova Scotia Legislature as MLA since 2013. During her time in the legislature, she has served on numerous committees and as Deputy Speaker. In 2020, Suzanne had the privilege of being appointed to cabinet as Minister of Communities, Culture, and Heritage and Minister of Gaelic Affairs.

“I am excited to have the opportunity once again to serve the people of Lunenburg,” says Lohnes-Croft. “I am proud of the work we have done as a government, but there is still more to do. I am committed to getting the job done in a new Liberal government.”

Suzanne has been involved in many important projects to revive the world-renowned Bluenose, including investments to repair the ship and allow future generations to enjoy its rich history. She is a strong advocate for children’s education and has secured large investments for South Shore Public Libraries. Suzanne is a champion for the forestry sector and has spearheaded several investments to ensure the sector can grow sustainably. Suzanne has always been a strong voice for rural Nova Scotia around the caucus table.

“Suzanne has been a valued voice in our government for the past eight years,” says Premier Rankin. “I am pleased to continue working with her to improve the lives of all Nova Scotians.”
