Amanda Mombourquette NSLP Leadership Contestant
Amanda Mombourquette is a community leader, economic developer, mother, wife, and elected official from St. Peter’s, Cape Breton. She is proud to have served as Warden of the Richmond County Council and is the current Deputy Warden. She is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University where she earned her Bachelors in Business Administration, majoring in Information Systems. Her past employment with the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce and NSCC has given her significant experience in workforce planning, small business advocacy, regional economic strategy, and the labour market.
Amanda has helped tackle some of the most pressing issues being faced by Nova Scotians as a founding member of organizations including Cape Breton South Recruiting for Health and the At Home Housing Association. She is also the Co-Chair of the Bras d’Or Lakes Collaborative Environmental Planning Initiative. Her community leadership extends to her time in senior management with the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Education and Development in Halifax, housing advocacy through the Strait Richmond Housing Matters Coalition, and her senior role at the Strait-Highlands Regional Development Agency.
Amanda is excited to be running to be the next leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. She knows that our party needs a leader to respond directly to what members across the province have been asking for: someone who will rebuild, with our membership at its centre. Using a grassroots approach, combined with her experience, our party will work together to create the best path forward for Nova Scotians, resulting in a Liberal
government.
