Demand Support for Halifax Water Customers

The province can help ease the burden caused by Halifax Water rate hikes.

Halifax Water is proposing a rate increase of over 16% for 2025-2026. That means that over the next two years, families in the HRM would face utility bill increases of over $300.

We know that Halifax Water is in need of necessary upgrades, but when Nova Scotians are already feeling the strain of a cost-of-living crisis, it's time for the government to step in.

That's why Timberlea-Prospect MLA Iain Rankin wrote to the government asking them to use funding they received from the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund to help prevent this rate increase.

Add your name below to urge the Houston government to act — because Nova Scotians shouldn't have to bear this burden.
